On December 3rd, alumni from the Washington, D.C. area gathered at the home of Dr. Joseph Loconte to reconnect and hear about changes in the The King’s College community. Professor Loconte, associate professor of history, and Dr. David Tubbs, associate professor of politics, co-hosted the annual gathering.

Approximately thirty alumni attended. The day’s events included a 45-minute conversation with Dr. Gregory Alan Thornbury, former president of The King’s College and current chancellor of the College, in which Dr. Thornbury spoke with alumni about his new role at the College and addressed their questions.

“We had a packed house at The King’s College alumni event in D.C.,” Professor Loconte said. “I think our alumni were especially grateful for the chance to get to know Chancellor Thornbury in an intimate setting.”

Part of the significance of a King’s education is the lifelong community of alumni all over the world. In keeping with The King’s College Christian mission to influence strategic institutions, there is a particularly large gathering of alumni in the D.C. area. Professor Loconte said, “It was deeply encouraging to see how our graduates are thriving in so many ways, personally and professionally. A real Kingsian community is taking shape in the nation’s capital.”
