Kathryn Ann (Bowen) Gibson ’54 passed away very suddenly to her eternal home on January 10, 2017. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Robert A. Gibson Scholarship Fund at Cecil College (1 Seahawk Drive, North East, MD 21901) or Elkton Presbyterian Church (209 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921). Her brother, Thales Bowen, Jr. would be glad to hear from her friends; his information is available upon request.

Kathy Anderson, AA ’63, writes, “I am living in Santiago, Chile. A friend and I are working to start a foundation here based on the Care-Net Pregnancy Resource Center model. It has been a slow process, but we are moving forward. A legal firm is providing pro bono legal support and a church has property with office space available for a low rent when we are ready. We are finalizing the bylaws and will begin our public relations/marketing outreach to churches for funding. While abortion is currently illegal in Chile, there is an bill to legalize abortion in three cases—rape, life of the mother, and non-viable fetus. The bill has passed the Deputies and a Senate committee, and will go to the full Senate for a vote in upcoming months. We hope to provide support to those facing an unplanned pregnancy through the services of the foundation. Please keep Fundación Apoyo Para El Embarazo in your prayers.”

John Hightower ’66 writes, “On January 30, I retired from the Louisiana State University Law Center after 10 years. I will probably return to lobbying, which is what I did before joining LSU. If I go back to lobbying, that will be part-time so will still be able to enjoy much free time and retirement!”

Judith Ann Herman Khan, who attended King’s from 1965-’67 and graduated in 1969 from Eastern Mennonite College, writes, “On Feb. 1, I celebrated my 70th birthday. I retired ten years ago from teaching. I wonder what has happened to former classmates (Richard Scott, Tom Bell {Billy Graham’s nephew}, and Nancy Fletcher, just to name three). My adopted son Corey Khan’s homeroom teacher was Helen Dillon, who graduated from King’s the last year it was in Briarcliff Manor.”

Stephen ’09 and Kristen (Benz) Peterson ’10 welcomed Rachel Kate Peterson to their family of three boys on January 21st, 2017. She was born at 4:39 a.m., weighed 9 lbs. and 9 oz., and was 19 3/4″ long.

Megan (Fox) Wesolowski ’12 and her husband Jon Jon welcomed their second child, Eleanor Kimberly Wesolowski, on January 1, 2017.

Maggie (O’Leary) Hernandez ’14 and her husband Evan welcomed their first born son, John Marshall Cornelius, on October 8, 2016. They now reside in Columbia, TN and all are healthy and happy.
