John Urban

John Urban is currently the President of Urban Capital LLC where he actively manages a diversified portfolio of investments. He also manages the investments and granting activities of the His Will Foundation.

John is a retired Partner of Goldman Sachs where he was co-head of the Global Leveraged Finance Group and co -head of the predecessor to the Special Situations . He was also a member of the Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities Division Risk committee. John joined Goldman Sachs in 1992 as a Vice President, became a Managing Director in 1996, and was named Partner in 1998.

Prior to Goldman Sachs, John worked at Continental Bank as a Director and founding member of the Loan Trading Group. He started his career at Nations Bank of Texas where he was part of the Commercial Lending group covering New York and New England. John was tapped at Nations Bank to help establish a loan trading business.

John is a Board of Regents member of Southwestern Assembly Of God University. He also serves on the Foundation Board of Patrick Henry College. John is a board member of Media Talk 101 , a ministry dedicated to the awareness of the harmful effects of media.

John received a BS in Finance from The University Of Illinois Champaign Urbana. He and his wife Carolyn have ten children and reside in Raleigh, North Carolina.
